Cytotoxicity
Guava Cell Toxicity Assay
Simple and superior
Cytotoxicity determination has never been easier to assess than with the Guava® Cell Toxicity Assay.
This single-cell based assay provides results that are as good as the 51-Chromium release assay, but without radioactivity. As a result, scientists don't need to worry about potential hazards and disposal of radioactive material.
What's more, the assay provides results that are more accurate and precise than population-based methods such as alamarBlue, MTT, and LDH.
CMC, CDC, ADCC, NK
All of the common
methods used to study cytotoxicity can be performed using the
Guava Cell Toxicity Assay, including cell-mediated or cell-dependent
cytotoxicity (CMC or CDC), antibody-dependent cell mediated
cytotoxicity (ADCC), and natural killer cytotoxicity (NK). The Guava
Cell Toxicity Assay provides all relevant statistics, including
percentage of target cells killed, effector and target cell
percentages, and whether the cells are alive or dead.
Sensitive and reproducible
The assay uses a well-characterized cell tracking dye that is optimized for use on all Guava Systems. The dye diffuses freely into cells and is retained within the cell without affecting cellular function. Because the assay is both sensitive and reproducible, assay development time is reduced.
Key features
- Tube and plate-based protocols
- Works with adherent and suspended cells
- Staining and data acquisiton complete in about 4 hours
- Provides direct, absolute cell counts and population percentages
- Analyzes cytotoxicity in single cells, discerning target cells from effector cells and provides all relevant statistics including % Target Cells Killed
