Guava Cell Paint Assay
for tracking target cells in mixed populations
The Guava® Cell Paint Assay offers single-cell analysis capabilities for mixed cultures without the complexity of traditional methods. The assay tracks one cell population from a second in mixed populations with the sensitivity of single-cell based methods and the throughput of a microplate format.
Easier than traditional methods
Using a well-characterized fluorescent dye, carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester (commonly referred to as CFSE), that diffuses freely into cells and is retained within the cell without affecting cellular function, The Guava Cell Paint Assay easily differentiates among cell populations based on the single dye or user-defined dual-color options. The assay system is easier to use than traditional methods, and because it is optimized for Guava Systems, assay development time is significantly reduced, increasing laboratory productivity.
Second dye can be added to monitor antigen specificity or protein expression
While the assay uses the cell tracking dye only as a single-color assay to track target cells within a mixed population for in vivo
and in vitro applications, a second dye can be added to perform a
user-defined dual-color assay for monitoring protein expression or
antigen specificity. The two-color mode is particularly useful for
monitoring specificity of mixed cultures in the same tube, say to determine antigen specificity in mixed cultures in a single tube or well, thus
reducing the number of tubes or wells required to run the assay.
