Diagnostics Overview

HIV/AIDS is truly a global pandemic: About 40 million people live with
the disease worldwide, and about 3 million die from it annually. Almost
65 percent of new infections occur in remote parts of the world where
access to adequate health care can be an issue. And, with health care
costs rising just about everywhere, access is likely to become more and
more of a global concern. As a result, there is a desperate need for
efficient and cost-effective methods by which health care professionals
can monitor progression and treatment of HIV/AIDS in all parts of the
world.
Total and fractional T-cell counts are
standard ways to determine onset of treatment for HIV/AIDS and
associated opportunistic infections. Further, T-cell counts and
percentage of CD4 T-cells are also well accepted ways to monitor
disease progression. Guava Technologies has adapted its patented
technology for counting cells to deliver an efficient and
cost-effective system for monitoring CD4 and CD8 T-cell counts.
The fully integrated Guava EasyCD4® System and associated turnkey assays (i.e., EasyCD4, EasyCD8™, and EasyCD4%® Assays)
deliver absolute T-cell counts and percentage of CD4 T-cells to help
monitor progression and treatment of HIV/AIDS in remote areas of the
world.
The Guava EasyCD4 System and Assays are not available in the United States, European Union, Japan, and some other countries. Please contact a Guava
Technologies representative for availability in your area.
As part of our commitment to help fight the global AIDS
pandemic, we are working extra hard on the development of additional
T-cell monitoring technologies for the international clinical community.
Together with our services, our systems
deliver sophisticated, yet cost-effective cell analysis technologies
directly to the lab bench. They are so
friendly that virtually any technician can learn to use one in less than a day. And, our turnkey assays are simple and fast, so you can deliver results as quickly as possible. |
